EXPO will be converted into an IT center

An Exponential Cluster—an international center for digital solutions—will be created in Astana.

An Exponential Cluster—an international center for digital solutions—will be established in Astana at the EXPO site. This will help expand the Astana Hub, which is already struggling to accommodate the growth of IT companies, announced Minister Zhaslan Madiyev. The Alem.ai International Artificial Intelligence Center will be the cluster's core. Key elements will remain the Astana Hub, the AI University, the Qaztech platform, and technology centers for medicine, drones, and robotics , Kursiv reports.

"Alem.ai will become a platform for bringing together talented individuals, researchers, entrepreneurs, and government officials focused on creating and implementing domestic AI solutions across various economic sectors," the minister explained.

The government previously transferred ownership and use rights to 100% of the state-owned shares of QazExpoCongress to the International Center for Information and Achievement of Industrial Development and Achievement (ICIDA). The corresponding decree, issued on May 19, entered into force on July 1, 2025.

As a reminder, the PROFIT Infrastructure Day conference, dedicated to smart infrastructure—from the office to the country—will be held in Almaty on October 10.
